Fredag Den 13:e – Domedagar (EveryDayHate)

There’s a lot of receipts for a great mood, like gin + tonic, rum + cola or Sweden + crust. To be honest, I have never heard bad Swedish crust, I guess it’s like blues and afro Americans, you just born with this in your heart. Domedagar was that missing link in order to make me happy today!
This is the third album from Fredag Den 13:e over the 9 years of band’s activity. They’re doing their best to keep up the good job and they’re doing well, to say the least. The fact that EveryDayHate supported the band and released two of their albums says a lot about the band’s level.
The art cover deserves all the praises you can come up with. Great artwork, no less. Two-faced mystical character (either it’s in pope’s cassock or monarch’s, still hard to get it right) immediately lets you know that this is truly a Swedish album. Definitely hard to miss while browsing the shelves of your local distro. Even the font was chosen just right, feels like all the lyrics was written by hand.
The album is always keeps the listener interested in it with its fast and furious, but still melodic songs. I’ve heard some bands where vocalist just can’t keep up with the other band and ruins overall impression from their music, but this is not the case with this album! Screaming vocals on this release is extraordinary, makes you want to scream along, haha! Pleasant crusty (no pun intended) bass on this album goes along with powerful (even sometimes rock’n’roll) solos, awesome combination! Add to this a massive d-beat drums and you got yourself an album that will definitely keep you in high spirit for a long time! I’m pretty sure that fans of Genocide Superstars and Wolfbrigade will enjoy this release for sure!
